We’ve decided to expedite getting some form of our game playable and into people’s hands, so Zak and I recently decided to port the core mechanics of our game and make a quick, hi-score based version of the game.  The game screen is actually sized so that it could be used as the banner on the Astral Hunters website which would be pretty cool.  Another reason for doing this is as a sort of marketing ploy to get the name of our game out there.  It’s a brand new IP and if we’re going to dedicate time to developing the game’s episodes, we need people to know about the game.  By making this prototype Flash based,  a lot of people will be able to quickly play the game on the web.  The game will be basic though!  The graphics are being shrunk, there will likely only be the standard handgun weapon, and it’s going to be a simple ‘shooting gallery’ type mini-game.  Ultimately, we hope it’s a good marketing tool that will help us get the word out and collect some feedback.
