Astral Hunters is on the Horizon

I admit we’ve been pretty terrible at updating the blog lately, but the main reason is because we’ve been hard at work trying to get Astral Hunters named and playable. Well that first part is done, Astral Hunters was pretty much the unanimous choice so all that game naming nonsense is behind us. Project K has been officially named Astral Hunters (note the tag change). Now we’re moving forward with getting some sort of early alpha out there.

You can see from the picture above that we’re making progress on that goal (if you click the picture you’ll notice some seams in the background – still need to fix that).  Zak has gotten in some great new graphics and we’ve got some really cool new things working in the game.  I’ll start with the computer terminals. Our futuristic terminals have a holographic projection interface (aka – it’s that glowing green bubble by the player).  When your character stands in front of these, they flash on and provide information.  In the beginning they act as a tutorial and will teach you the core controls.

We’ve also got some drones hovering around (they’re the red circular things to the right of the player).  Drones patrol and protect ships from intruders and also serve as target practice.  The other big addition to this screenshot is that we have our new background in there and of course the ship interior windows, doors and metal walls.  As always, let us know your thoughts and comments.
