Let's Talk Weapons

We’re getting closer and closer to actually releasing a playable prototype.  As part of this process, we’ve gone through our list of absolutely necessary things that need to be done to complete the first level/prologue/tutorial.  Here’s some of the things we still have to do:

  1. Player Animations (Death, Shooting Weapons, Reloading to name a few)
  2. Background tiles/windows
  3. Graphics for Computer Terminal
  4. Enemy Graphics
  5. Code Health/Damage/Death
  6. Code Enemy AI

There’s definitely more little things, but as part of our effort to get something into player hands – we’ve settled on the 2 weapons that will be available in the prototype:

Handgun

The handgun will be the standard weapon you start with and is a ballistic weapon with singular fire.  Exactly how big the clip size is and how much damage it will do will continue to be tweaked while we work on the game.

Grenade Launcher

This is the much cooler weapon we have in the game right now.  It will have a relatively small clip size (4-6) and hurls grenades into the environment.  The grenades roll down slopes, collide with boxes and completely interact with the Box2D physics engine we have in the game.
